A bit of rain and the Oak Trees

Well over the last few days we have had a bit of rain which has helped the grass to start to green up. This is particularly noticeable on the fields that we cut for hay.

However one of the things that we have noticed is that all of the oak trees are full of acorns, to the point that the branches are rather heavy with them.

The rain will help to the acorns to swellup but they will get heavier and as such it means that the branches will start to droop down a bit lower.

This has not gone unnoticed by our sheep who are already taking an interest in the oak branches that have started to drop.

Judging by the amount of acorns in the higher branches, when the acorns mature the sheep are likely to be kept busy under the trees come the start of Autumn.
